Dennis M. Zuercher graduated from Gibbs in 1987 and was involved in JROTC. In the spring of 1992, he graduated from the University of South Florida. He started teaching in 1995. Mr. Zuercher has been a Social Studies teacher at Gibbs since 1998. He served as both Student Government and class sponsor for many years. He is co-chair of the Social Studies department and has sponsored the National Honor Society since 2016. He is married to a teacher, and their two children attend the University of Florida.
His hope for the museum is that it will tell the important history and traditions of Gibbs High School so that it will have a meaningful impact on current students. The museum will be a way to honor and remember the respect, excellence, and pride that has served and taught the city since 1927.
