Sara Dubbeld is a retired language arts teacher who taught at Gibbs from 1976 to 2011. She received her M.Ed. in English Education from the University of South Florida. In 1999, she became a National Board-Certified Teacher and was trained to become an AP Language and Composition teacher. She coached the Academic Team, served as English department chair, and was selected as a Pinellas County Teacher of the Year finalist. At the end of her career, she scored AP Language exam essays for the College Board in Louisville and St. Louis. Since retiring, she enjoys traveling with her husband and spending time with her grandchildren.

Sara saw many changes throughout her tenure at Gibbs: double sessions, a new campus, six principals, the introduction of the Artistically Talented Program (now PCCA), and the addition of the (Business Economics Technology Academy (BETA). Through it all one thing remained unchanged – GHS students were the best! She feels honored to have taught all five thousand who entered her classroom.

Sara enjoys working with former colleagues on the Jonathan C. Gibbs History Museum Committee as it strengthens her ties with the place she called home for 35 years.
